During this course you will experiment with the many techniques that can be used with acrylic paints.

Progress from watercolour/wash type style through to different thickness of paint to create layers and depth in an image to using additives to create textured paintings.

Each week we will create an image using different styles and subjects. Subjects will be varied and include landscape, seascape, buildings, animals and people.

You will follow a demonstration and discuss alternative ways to approach the subject. Examples from other artists will aim to inspire and illustrate the pitfalls to watch out for.

While creating the images you will find and develop your own style and get to experiment with different mediums that can add texture and extra body to the paint.

No previous experience is required for this course. We welcome complete beginners or improvers who have who wish to expand their knowledge in this medium. Our tutor is happy to answer any questions you may have prior to registering for this course.

No fancy or expensive materials are necessary to attend. If you already have paint, brushes and paper you prefer to use please bring them with you. If you do not don’t worry we do have a small supply to get you started.
